We are starting a new Tai-Chi fitness class on October 7.

The exercises emphasize continuous flowing movements that unite the body, breath and mind. There is a focus on specific movements from the Simplified 24 Tai Chi form.

Benefits include increased flexibility, leg strength and balance, as well as the effects of meditation such as a reduction in stress and anxiety.

Two Kids’ Acting and Improv Classes Start Nov 6

This fun class is designed for your child to discover his or her talents, build confidence, make friends and learn the value of teamwork.

Through IMPROV theater games and basic IMPROV acting techniques, your child will  gain acting, storytelling and comedy skills.

Family and friends are welcome to watch the final performance. There is a beginning and intermediate level class

“Party in Pink” Zumbathon Fundraiser

Help raise money for the Breast and GYN Health Project and have a great time!

Michaele Whiteley will host the annual “Party in Pink” Zumbathon fundraiser on October 14, 2016 from 5:30 to 7:30 PM at the Eureka Muni (new location). The purpose is to raise breast cancer awareness and support a great local cause.

This is the biggest and best event ever!

Eight Zumba instructors are coming to help in this great cause.  In addition, Pablo Durham-Aguilar will be there to get you into a real high-energy Body Combat workout.

It’s only $15 to attend. Donations are accepted.

NEW! Andy Warhol Based Youth Art Classes

Here’s a fun class for your kids you won’t find very often.

Students will learn art composition of various mediums while learning about the Pop artist Andy Warhol and creating pieces based on his work. Students will learn about Warhol’s life, techniques, styles and his “factory”. All facts will be kid friendly!

Each child will make a soup can painting, paper mache cat (Andy had 25 cats all named Sam!) and a Sculpey clay Andy Warhol with one of his cats on canvas board that will be colored silver because his art studio (the factory) was covered in tin foil!

Taiji Flow (Tai Chi) Class Starts October 28

Taiji Flow is a follow-along class that allows participants to experience the benefits of Tai Chi without memorizing choreography.

The exercises emphasize continuous flowing movements that unite the body, breath and mind. There is a focus on specific movements from the Simplified 24 Tai Chi form.

Benefits include increased flexibility, leg strength and balance, as well as the effects of meditation such as a reduction in stress and anxiety.

Adult Beginning Pottery Class Starts Nov 3

This class is an introduction to pottery and is designed to teach students the basics of crafting ceramic pieces, glaze application, and design.

Students will have 6 projects to choose from or may work on pieces of their own design. Open to all skill levels.

Upcycled Art Classes for Children

Students will make use of recycled materials from the local communities in Humboldt County.

Every two weeks, students will focus on a particular theme and incorporate specific materials into their art projects. The class will focus on both artistic techniques, such as color blending, shading, depth perception, scaling of objects, vantage point, and perspective, and will also emphasize the usage of recycled materials and objects in the creative and artistic processes.
