Free and Reduced Price Camps for Youth!

Make this a summer your kids will always remember! Camp registration is open for City of Eureka summer camps! Whatever your kids’ interests, they’ll have fun in the north coast sun with all sorts of creative and exciting activities. Summer camp is a valuable experience for all children, which is why Eureka Community Services has multiple options to make our summer programs accessible to families of all backgrounds.

FREE

Camp Cooper is a free summer camp for kids ages 5-12! From June 20-August 11 kids will participate in enriching environmental education activities learning about the natural world near and far! With limited space, there is an application process for Camp Cooper based on three different criteria to qualify: receipt of public assistance, income eligibility, and special hardship circumstances. If accepted, a space will be secured for the entire summer.

REDUCED PRICE

We accept Changing Tides and offer 50% fee reduction scholarships to qualifying families while available for our other fee-based summer programs: Camp ALL Stars, Camp Sequoia, and Leaders-In-Training. To utilize these programs, you must apply in person at the Adorni Center, 1011 Waterfront Dr., Eureka. Summer Team Program: Leader In Training Starts June 20

Transforming Eureka Teens into Tomorrow’s Leaders

Is your teenager an up-and-coming leader? Then the Leader in Training (L.I.T) program is just for them! Held in conjunction with City of Eureka Summer Day Camps, this leadership-based training program provides hands-on experience for personal and professional growth. Being a teen leader in our summer camps means participants will work alongside summer camp staff hosting activities and excursions for children. Teens will have the opportunity to work on a variety of skills including leadership, communication, conflict resolution, responsibility, teamwork, and more! Many of our L.I.T’s end up working in city programs when they get older! It’s the perfect resume builder and stepping stone to a career in recreation!

Camp Cooper Starts June 20

PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED. SPOTS FILL QUICKLY.

Summer is a time to explore, have fun, and learn along the way. Camp Cooper is a no-cost summer camp for all! Children will get to explore Cooper Gulch Park while enjoying science outside. This enriching camp provides opportunities for youth to learn environmental stewardship, wildlife habitat, conservation, and interpretation.

Youth Volleyball Camp Starts June 26

The City of Eureka Community Services Department is excited to announce a new Youth Volleyball Camp taking place at the Adorni Community Center this summer.  The camp will teach the basic fundamentals of passing, setting, bumping, serving, and ball control.  It will also cover the techniques for offense and defensive court positioning.

Hoopsters Volunteer Coaches Needed! 

The City of Eureka’s Hoopsters Youth Basketball Program is looking for more volunteer coaches for our upcoming season.

If you are interested in becoming a Volunteer Coach, no experience is required.  Simply complete a Coach Application.

You can download the application from our website (eurekacommunityservices.com) or pick one up at the Adorni Community Center.  Hoopsters consists of a Boys League and a Girls League, with teams available for 3rd through 6th grade students.

Games are played on Saturdays beginning in late January and continuing through April 2023.

What does a coach do?

Coaches  plan, organize, and supervise one weekly practice session, and coach one weekend game for the eight-game season, a small time commitment that will impact the youth in community for a lifetime.

Hoopsters Youth Basketball Registration Deadline

Calling all young basketball players in grades 3rdthrough 6th grade. The registration deadline for the 2023 Hoopsters Youth Basketball Program is Friday, December 16th.  You can register at the Adorni Community Center, 1011 Waterfront Drive in Eureka.

Hoopsters consists of a Boys League and a Girls League, with teams available for 3rd through 6thgrade students.  Games are played on Saturdays beginning in late January and continuing through April 2023.  The entry fee is $75.00, and includes a team t-shirt.

2023 Hoopsters Youth Basketball Registration Begins Oct 3

Join our very popular and exciting Hoopsters Youth Basketball Program!

This program is designed to teach the fundamentals of basketball in a low competitive environment while creating opportunities for children, grades 3rd-6th, to improve their athletic skill and build self-confidence in a safe, secure and supervised environment.

General League Information:

  • Registration for the 2023 Season begins October 3rd through December 16th.
  • Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis and depends on the number of qualified coaches.
  • Season begins in January and concludes in April.
  • Games are played on Saturdays, with occasional Sundays.
  • Weekly team practice times vary.
  • The $75 entry fee includes a team t-shirt.

Coaches and sponsors are needed.
