Community Services Offices Re-Opening

Community Services offices at the Adorni Center will be open beginning Wednesday, July 1st, 9am-5pm Monday-Friday for business transactions, paying camp & preschool fees, etc.

The fitness facility is NOT open at this time.

Additionally, Little Saplings & Community Services offices will be closed Friday, July 3rd in observance of the 4th of July holiday.

Summer Day Camps return July 6 – August 7!

They will include Camp Cooper (application & referral base only) and Camp Muni. 

Our summer day camps will look a bit different this year.  Group sizes will be smaller to accommodate social distancing, campers and leaders will wear masks, and temperature checks for campers will take place at the start of the program each day.

Both camps will operate Monday-Friday 8:30am-5pm and are for youth ages 5-12 years. Camp Muni will be $120/week for Eureka residents and $130/week for non-residents.  There will be no half-day option this year.

Community Services Recreation Program Cancellations

City of Eureka Suspends Most Public Gatherings Through March

The City of Eureka is taking steps to suspend many of its public gatherings throughout the City until the end of March. The decision follows recommendations from the California Department of Public Health to slow the spread of the COVID-19.

The following facilities, programs, and activities will be suspended through March 31st 2020:

The Adorni Center beginning at 5pm March 13th including:

  • Drop-in sports
  • Fitness classes
  • CPR classes
  • Rentals

Youth and Adult Sports beginning immediately including:

  • Hoopsters practices and games
  • Men’s Basketball and Woman’s Volleyball games
  • Roller Skating at the Muni beginning immediately
  • The Annual Easter Egg-venture
  • Community Class i.e. Toddler Soccer and Bitty Basketball
  • F.U.N. Play Center
  • The Wharfinger and rentals beginning on Monday, March 16th
    • Staff will be onsite for essential services

Next CPR Class on March 21

As for the class in general: This class is what is called a “blended learning” CPR class which means students must spend two hours on their computers on an-online class before coming in to class.

Silver Sneakers Tai Chi Class Starts March 1

A modified Tai Chi Class, called “EnerChi,” is starting at the Adorni on March 1.

EnerChi is comprised of easy-to-learn, modified Tai Chi forms aimed at improving well-being.

Low-impact movements are practiced in a slow, flowing sequence to progress strength, balance and focus. Chair support is offered to facilitate standing stability and seated exercise options.
