Neighborhood Watch Block Party

Be Smart! Be Safe! Meet Your Neighbors!

The Eureka Police Department is excited to announce their participation in the upcoming Neighborhood Watch Block Party. This fun and informative event is Saturday, August 29th from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Carson Park, 2401 H Street in Eureka.

Some of the events taking place at the block party include:

  • Disaster preparedness information
  • Food & music
  • Home security information
  • Digital child ID fingerprinting

Note: please bring folding chairs and the event is also looking for volunteers.

The block party is sponsored by the City of Eureka, Eureka Police Department, and Eureka Neighborhood Watch. Numerous businesses and individuals have made generous donations to make this event possible.

The event will feature a live performance by the Delta Nationals, games for kids, food, Neighborhood Watch information, and speeches from Mayor Frank Jager and Chief Mills.

Oysters barbequed by Supervisor Rex Bohn, a raffle, and other food items will be sold as a fundraiser for the second annual Shop with a Cop and Eureka Neighborhood Watch. Last year, Shop with a Cop allowed 12 local kids to go shopping with police officers and firefighters and spend $100 each. EPD is hoping to raise enough funds to grow the Shop with a Cop program.

Thanks go to Neighborhood Watch block Captains Jeannie Breslin and Jean Scheffler for planning the event and to the many generous donors. Download the attached poster donated by Carson Park Designs. Contact Suzie Owsley at (707) 441-4371 or with any questions.
