Old Town Walking Tours Begin in July

Take the family on an interactive history lesson of Old Town

FREE!The city of Eureka’s Outdoor Recreation Program, Explore Eureka, in partnership with the Clarke Museum, is presenting weekly “Historical Walking Tours” in Old Town Eureka beginning July 7th and running every Saturday until the last weekend of August – including on Get Out and Play Day (#gop2018)

The tours offer an interactive history lesson and are designed to be fun for the whole family. Tours take you up close and personal with the buildings and history of Old Town.

Wigi Wetlands Enhancement Part 3

Attention environmental stewards!

Empower Eureka, E.C.O Eureka, and Redwood Region Audubon Society are excited to announce the Wigi Wetlands Enhancement Part 3.

Put on your environmental steward hat, break out your handy dandy tools and join us one last time for a “Broom Bridage.”  Saturday, June 2 from 9:30 am- noon (ages 7 and up!) get the family outside to help enhance up our local wetlands.

Please join us at Sequoia Park Pond, Sequoia Park, Eureka to meet with agency staff to learn about non-native and/or invasive fish, wildlife, and plant species, as well as Martin Slough watershed native species and their habitats.

FREE Interpretive Leisure Bike Tour Highlighting Newest Section of Waterfront Trail

FREE!Eureka Community Services, in partnership with HSU’s Recreation Administration Department is offering a FREE interpretive leisure bike tour highlighting the newest section of the Eureka waterfront trail.

Staff will guide a tour along the waterfront, stopping at several locations along the way to discuss the history and culture of the surrounding waterfront area, as well as touch on the development of the trail system.

This event is open to all ages and is perfect to take the whole family too!

Help Us Clean Up Cooper Gulch on April 21

Saturday, April 21th, Empower Eureka, E.C.O. Eureka and California Conservation Corps are inviting you  to help cleanup Eureka.

This “Cooper Gulch Work Day” event will assign volunteers to remove invasive plant species and replant natives at Cooper Gulch watershed. Meet at Cooper Gulch near the baseball fields at 10:00am.
