Eureka Facilities Master Planning Meeting

The City of Eureka has created a draft a Citywide Public Facilities Master Plan to align current community objectives for public facilities with the City’s overall planning goals and Capital Improvement expenditures. The Plan expands upon the City’s practice of portraying clear objectives for public facilities and establishing a future vision and achievement strategies to implement improvements to public facilities. The information obtained from the Plan as well as concepts presented within can act as a planning and maintenance guide for the City of Eureka.

We also invite the community to attend this public meeting to receive a short presentation and to provide feedback.

Get Out and Play Day Returns!

It’s back!

Come join us on July 31, 2021 for the return of Get Out & Play Day with lots of free fun activities throughout Eureka.

This popular FREE community event will take place throughout Eureka with activities for everyone.

All current Humboldt County COVID guidelines will be in effect. If you are feeling sick, please stay home. We’ll see you next year.

Help Us Clean Up Cooper Gulch

This cleanup is sponsored by the PacOut Green Team in collaboration with Cooper Gulch Common Grounds and Eureka Police Department’s CSET team.
The event will focus on garbage and litter around the baseball fields and disc golf course.


  • Saturday, June 12, 2021 from 8:45Am-10AM at Cooper Gulch (1720 10th St. Eureka) Meet near the skate park.
  • Clean up starts at 9:00 AM
  • Group photo at 9:45AM

  • We will have sanitizer on site for all our volunteers.
  • You must have a mask to participate in our cleanups. Wearing a mask is required at the beginning and end of our cleanups. Masks are optional during the cleanup as long as you can socially distance yourself from other people.
  • We encourage all cleanup volunteers to bring their own gloves, pickers, and buckets. However, we will provide gloves, pickers, and buckets for volunteers that need them.
  • We will be washing ALL gloves and vests after each cleanup and SANITIZING all pickers, buckets, pens, tables, etc. after each cleanup.
  • If any volunteers have had COVID-19 symptoms we ask they do not participate in any PacOut Green Team cleanups for 14 days.

Free Compost For Food Independence

It’s Spring and that means it’s time to declare your food independence by kicking off your garden! Join the City of Eureka, Recology, and Cooperation Humboldt as we join forces to ensure everyone has access to nutritional food and is empowered to grow their own!

We are offering free compost to help kick start your veggie garden this Spring. All you need to do is show up with a shovel and container and take what you need. Compost is a nutritional amendment that helps supplement your soil so plants have all the nutrients they need to grow yummy fruits and vegetables.

FREE Virtual Conservation Lecture hosted by Sequoia Park Zoo

The Sequoia Park Zoo Conservation Lecture Series is going VIRTUAL for 2020/21

The first virtual lecture is scheduled for Wednesday, November 18, 2020 at 6:45pm.

Barbara Clucas will be joining us from Humboldt State University’s Department of Wildlife to discuss Humboldt’s flying squirrels. She was awarded the Zoo’s Conservation Grant in 2019 and looks forward to sharing the results of her research with our community. Zoo updates and information will begin at 6:45 PM with the lecture starting at 7:00 PM promptly. Attendees can ask questions to the speaker at the end of the presentation via the chat box on Zoom. The Zoom link will be available on our website at www.SequoiaParkZoo.net and on our social media.
