The 10th Annual Zootini Gala, on August 6th, was a fantastic success!
Fashionable guests arrived to find the Arkely Pavilion sparkling with new stain donated by Jack Rieke, Shafer’s Ace Hardware and Penofin Wood Care. Guests received a souvenir Zootini glass and enjoyed wonderful signature cocktails (Thanks to Shawn and his crew from The Diver Bar and Grill) while sampling hors d’oeuvers made by the Sequoia Park Zoo Cafe and raw oysters generously donated by Hog Island Oyster Co.
Silent and live auction items, animal encounters with Von Schreber the Striped Skunk and Winky the Northern Spotted Owl, as well as an otter feeding, kept the guest engaged and entertained until dinner was served by Uniquely Yours Catering servers, all the while Accurate Productions filled the evening air with lovely music and North Coast Dance did a short enchanting performance.
At the end of the evening, guests enjoyed a scrumptious dessert bar, donated by Ramone’s Bakery & Cafe and danced under the stars until light out!
The Sequoia Park Zoo Foundation thanks Barbara Groom at Lost Coast Brewery for providing beer, Humboldt Craft Spirits for providing their delicious Blue Lake Vodka, Dutch & Dewey Distillery for contributing their wonderful vodka and gin, Septentrio Winery for their delectable wine, and Toni Magyar, who painted a marvelous painting of our flamingos for the live auction.
The Zoo Foundation is grateful to all the individuals and businesses who donated items for the live and silent auction and to Paul McGinty, our excellent auctioneer as well as all the table sponsors and guests who helped make the 10th Annual Zootini the best ever and help us make the zoo a healthy home for our animals and provide educational experiences for children and families.
