Teen Court is Operational

We are in unusual times during this pandemic.

Teen Court typically handles misdemeanor-level juvenile offenses as a diversion opportunity. But currently, that program is underutilized due to the virtual nature of our world right now.

IF you feel you have ANY use for the skills and strengths of our program, please reach out to work with them.

Their strength is that they have a pool of youth volunteers who really want to make a positive difference in their community. They have teen volunteers ready and willing to help their peers.

What is Teen Court?

Teen Court Jury Council is operational and is a virtual peer-led process that can address behavioral type offenses. The teens are trained in a strength-based, trauma-informed, restorative approach.  And they can be creative in order to serve the needs of this moment.

Hip Hop Dance Class for Teens Starts May 5

Dance to the popular beats of today’s hip-hop while developing technique.

This is a great opportunity to work out, learn up to date dance steps and most importantly have fun! Gain a sense of style, dynamic movement, improvisational skills, strengthen balance and improve flexibility.

Please wear comfortable attire and sneakers.

October “Creative Escapes” Art Classes for Youth

Let your children experience the joy of creativity.

For younger children, participants will explore various mediums of art creation, including sketching, water colors, pastels, paint, and more.

For teens, participants will explore their own style through different techniques of painting, drawing, and sculpture, while experimenting with
the possibilities of the mixed-media process.

  • Classes run October 7, 2016 –  November 18, 2016 (6 Session Dates)
  • Classes are at the John Ryan Youth Center at 1653 J Street, Eureka
  • Cost is $50 for Eureka resident/$51 for non-residents
  • Instructor is Katie Ritter
