Making Headway Center for Brain Injury Recovery, at 730 K Street in Eureka, works toward the prevention of brain injuries through education, and helps those who have sustained brain injuries to gain access to individualized services, support and opportunities for independence. Through a variety of programs and services Making Headway Center helps individuals develop the skills necessary to adapt and mitigate the issues caused by brain injury. The agency strives to prevent brain injuries by promoting safe practices and providing properly fitted helmets to children in need.

Help Make Get Out and Play Day 2017 Even Better!

One of the biggest summer events of the year is coming to Eureka – and YOU can help make it even better!

The fourth annual Get out and Play Day is July 29, 2017.

What is “Get Out and Play Day?”

It’s just the most fun ever! Thousands and thousands of folks come out in Eureka to take part in this FREE event that celebrates having fun in our wonderful Victorian burg. Last year, about 8,000 people came out to play at all sorts of events, including:

Hoopsters Youth Basketball Registration Begins Oct 10

Hoopsters Youth Basketball registration will begin on Monday, October 10th.

The league is available for all full time students currently enrolled in grades 3-12.  The fees are $65 for each participant and we offer a family discount (2 or more children) for $55/each.  There is also a $5 non-resident fee for each participant that lives outside Eureka City Limits.

Deadline dates are as follows:

Haunted Harvest Carnival and Haunted Trail

Bring the whole family to this fun, free event on October 29 at Sequoia Park.

Take a historic trek down to the duck pond and discover what lurks in the shadows as you’re taken on a journey to learn the truth about the witch’s cabin.
