Sequoia Park Zoo is seeking adult volunteers for a brand-new education program on the Redwood Sky Walk 

Do you love the majesty of our local redwoods? Is Sequoia Park a special place for you? If so, would you like to hang out in the redwood canopy 100 feet above the forest floor and help visitors enjoy the Redwood Sky Walk? If that sounds like you and you’re able to commit to one shift per week through the summer season, then you might have what it takes to be a Redwood Sky Walk Steward! Complete the questionnaire at the link below and find out!

SEQUOIA PARK ZOO ANNOUNCES CONSERVATION GRANT OPPORTUNITY

EUREKA, CA – The Zoo’s Conservation Advisory Committee has opened the new cycle of conservation grants for 2022. The committee welcomes proposals for projects that have a clear and direct conservation impact on wildlife and/or habitat conservation and that are in line with the Zoo’s mission and conservation priorities. Special consideration is given to projects supporting local wildlife or habitats, although national and international projects are considered as well. Successful applicants are those whose projects can be completed within one year. The maximum award is $1,500. The deadline for applications is Friday, January 28, 2022, at 5:00 PM. Bay to Zoo Community Meeting

You are invited to attend a community meeting informing the public about the current status of the proposed Bay to Zoo Trail.

This trail would connect the Waterfront Trail at Tydd Street to the North to Sequoia Park in the South. The trail is currently in the planning phase and the City would like to invite you to learn more about the project.

FREE Virtual Conservation Lecture hosted by Sequoia Park Zoo

The Sequoia Park Zoo Conservation Lecture Series is going VIRTUAL for 2020/21

The first virtual lecture is scheduled for Wednesday, November 18, 2020 at 6:45pm.

Barbara Clucas will be joining us from Humboldt State University’s Department of Wildlife to discuss Humboldt’s flying squirrels. She was awarded the Zoo’s Conservation Grant in 2019 and looks forward to sharing the results of her research with our community. Zoo updates and information will begin at 6:45 PM with the lecture starting at 7:00 PM promptly. Attendees can ask questions to the speaker at the end of the presentation via the chat box on Zoom. The Zoom link will be available on our website at www.SequoiaParkZoo.net and on our social media.

Kids free at the Zoo on Get Out and Play Day!

You probably already knew that kids under 12 get in free at the Sequoia Park Zoo (with a paying adult), on #GOPD2019 but you didn’t know that there are lots of special events taking place at the zoo that day too!
