City of Eureka Seeking Local Photos and Memories of Sequoia Park’s History
The City of Eureka is excited to reach out to the community to seek photos and memories of Sequoia Park and its Playground or the Sequoia Park Zoo in an effort to support the Sequoia Park Improvement Project. Do you have fond memories and photos of the 125-year-old history of these beloved spaces that you would be willing to share?
The City recently conducted several community outreach opportunities resulting in a new conceptual design for Sequoia Park. Community feedback prioritized a design which will enhance what is loved, restore what is broken, and provide what is missing.
Sunset Magazine chose Eureka as the #2 “Game Changing City in the U.S”!
According to the magazine,
“This small seaport spent a decade restoring its waterfront with a newly completed 6-mile pedestrian trail. Adding to the charm are grand 19th-century homes, proximity to redwoods, and more artists per capita than anywhere else in the state.”
