Let your young ones explore the environment outside their front door!

This week of camp will focus on youth exploring the outdoors at Cooper Gulch, learning about our local eco systems and wildlife, and having fun playing in an outdoor setting.

What should my child bring?

  • A water bottle!
  • Comfortable shoes for plenty of activity
  • A warm coat and clothing suited for cooler weather
  • A sack lunch and two snacks

Parks and Rec Gets Art Grant!

Ink People & City of Eureka Awarded California Arts Council  “Creative California Communities” Grant

State funds will leverage local arts project to address community needs

Eureka, CA – The California Arts Council announced its plans to award $90,000 to the Ink People & City of Eureka as part of its Creative California Communities program.  The program supports collaborative projects that harness arts and culture as a creative placemaking strategy. Projects will benefit residents and visitors by utilizing area artists, cultural organizations and arts-related businesses to address community needs or priorities. Raiders of the Lost Park for Ages 5-12 During Presidents’ Week

Let your young ones explore the environment outside their front door!

Eureka Parks & Recreation’s Explore Eureka program is offering a Presidents Week Camp at Cooper Gulch & Sequoia Park for your young ones to explore the environment outside their front door!

Young Adventurers will hike trails, learn about wildlife living in the park, and experiment with science focused activities relating the ecosystem of the redwoods. Kids will have lunch among the redwoods and learn fun outdoor adventure skills. Camp will take place at Cooper Gulch Tuesday & Thursday and at Sequoia Park on Wednesday & Friday (in the event of rain, camp will default to taking place at Cooper Gulch).
