Humboldt Bee Fest comes to the Adorni

The Humboldt Bee Fest is an opportunity for our community to learn about the fantastic world of pollinators and get to know our local beekeepers.

Don’t make the mistake of thinking it’s just for beekeepers.

This fun, family-friendly gathering is not only a great place to celebrate bees as there will be local live music, hands-on workshops – and a whole lot more. Come catch the buzz and join the fun!

Pathway to Payday: FREE JOB WORKSHOP Series returns

Have you been on the job hunt but are finding that you aren’t getting a call back for an interview?

Eureka Parks & Recreation and the Betty Chinn Day Center are committed to empowering the members of our community and providing them with the tools to set them up for success.  Which is why they have partnered to create Pathway to Payday—a unique and innovative workshop that will only teach you how to FREE!best sell yourself on your application & how to best be prepared for an interview.

What makes this workshop unique, is that participants will get the opportunity to immediately put these skills to the test with on-site interviews with real employers looking to hire.

  • Rita’s Margaritas & Mexican Grill
  • Sun Valley, Pierson’s
  • Express Employment Professionals
  • Wing Inflatables
  • North Coast Cleaning Services

Workshop participants are not guaranteed a job, but they are guaranteed this great opportunity. Last year, nearly 90% of workshop attendees left with a job.

There will be free on-site childcare available, lunch, as well as interview attire if needed.

This free workshop series will take place over four sessions at the Betty Kwan Chinn Day Center at 133 7th Street in Eureka. Sessions take place Wednesday, April 26th, Friday April 28th, and Wednesday May 3rd, and Friday May 5th from 10am-1pm.

Camp Ryan Summer Day Camp for Ages 5-12

Camp Ryan is an unforgettable summer camp program for youth ages 5-12. 

It offers kids a special opportunity for summertime fun and friendship in a safe and supervised setting. Children will participate in a wide variety of games, arts & crafts, sports, drama, scientific discovery, field trips and more. All activities are supervised by City of Eureka Recreation Staff. Children are checked in and out daily and are not permitted to leave without prior parental consent. All sessions are one week long and can accommodate 40 children per week. Parents can register for ½ day or full day sessions.

Hip Hop Dance Class for Teens Starts May 5

Dance to the popular beats of today’s hip-hop while developing technique.

This is a great opportunity to work out, learn up to date dance steps and most importantly have fun! Gain a sense of style, dynamic movement, improvisational skills, strengthen balance and improve flexibility.

Please wear comfortable attire and sneakers.

Budding artists will learn all the basics about ceramics in this warm and accepting atmosphere where everyone can feel successful with their efforts while having fun and appreciating both the product and the process of creating art. Join us as we create beautiful pieces of work that you can keep for yourself or give as gifts!
