Seed Exchange Added to Free Compost Event

In addition to being able to pick up free compost, you can now pick up some seeds.

You already knew that we are offering free compost to help kick start your veggie garden this summer, but now we’ve added a seed exchange. Take some seeds, bring some seeds.

To take place in the event, all you need to do is show up with a shovel and container and take what you need. Compost is a nutritional amendment that helps supplement your soil so plants have all the nutrients they need to grow yummy fruits and vegetables.

Details:

  • July 4, 2020
  • 9AM – 1PM
  • At Recology in Samoa (555 Vance Avenue)
  • There will also be a seed exchange. Bring some seeds, take some seeds.

Get Out & Play Day Canceled for 2020

Sadly, Eureka Community Services has made the difficult decision to cancel Get Out & Play Day 2020 due to the COVID-19 Corona Virus Pandemic.

The current Shelter In Place order does not allow large gatherings and information that the City has been receiving does not indicate that these events will be allowed in the next next months.

We’ll be posting some of our favorite Get Out & Play Day memories on social media and will share some activities that you can do for your own Get Out & Play Day.  We’d love to see pictures!  Stay tuned for more info.  We look forward to getting the community together again when it is safe to do so.
