Now that its all over, and we’ve had a chance to get everything put away, we wanted to take one quick look back at Get Out and Play Day 2016 and give a really big shout out and thank you to all our partners and sponsors for making it the best GOPD yet (at least until 2017).

This free, unique activity is designed for families & their children who are new to, or curious about the new gaming phenomenon Pokemon Go!

The event will be part of #GOPD2016 on July 30, 2016 at 11AM at the Adorni and brought to you with the help of Next Gen Eureka.

Children Play Free at Eureka Golf Course on Get Out and Play Day

Children 12 and under can play for free all day on #GOPD2016 on July 30, 2016 at the Eureka Golf course when accompanied by a paying adult.

Their hours that day are 6:30 AM to 8PM.

UPDATED: Free Interpretive Tour on Hikshari Trail on Get Out and Play Day

The phase A trail preview has been changed to an interpretive walk along the Hikshari’ Trail.

Before construction begins on phase A of the new trail, experience the beauty found alongside the current existing 1.5 mile Hikshari’ Trail.  This fun, informative guided tour will included information and discussion on the migrant & vagrant bird species, Wiyot Village life and much more!

Tour meets up at 11:30am at the foot of Truesdale behind Shamus BBQ on #GOPD2016

UPDATED: Play on the Bay Day as part of #GOPD2016

There are a couple additions to information about Play on the Bay on July 30, 2016 in red.

Pacific Outfitters and the Humboldt Bay Aquatic Center are setting up all sorts of water activities including:

• Free water rentals from Humboldt Bay Aquatic Center
• Youth and Adult Paddleboard races
• Personal flotation device demos
• Sea Scouts will be on site providing boat rides!
• The Sheriffs Dept. will have their “Marine Posse” out on the bay that day demonstrating boat safety
• It will be kayak “roll” demo (not “roll over” as previously stated)
