Come Say Farewell to Greg Parnell

It’s the sad end of an era.

On Thursday, December 22 at 6:30 PM, Greg Parnell, master of Zumba, fan of The Walking Dead, avid follower of TSO, 80s heavy metal fan, and all around infectiously-joyous individual, will be hanging up his bright green Zumba gear after conducting his last Zumba class at the Adorni.

He’s moving on to other (neon) green pastures. Come dance with us and wish him well.

If you’ve ever had the opportunity to be in one of Greg’s classes, you know that “if you’re moving and you’re smiling, you’re doing it right,” and “there is no such thing as a mistake in Zumba, simply unintended solos.”

Greg’s personality, energy, enthusiasm and passion will be missed at the Adorni. Thank you for all you’ve done. Best of luck to you in all your future endeavors.

Holiday Dash on NEW Eureka Waterfront Trail

Come to the free inaugural fun run, walk, roll on December 17th as we open phase A of the Waterfront Trail!

We’re hosting a 1-mile fun run (or walk or roll – wheelchairs only; no bikes) as part of the opening of Phase A of the Waterfront Trail. Participants will start at the Del Norte Pier and go one mile south along the trail. Rides back to Del Norte Street will be provided by the Timber Heritage Association and there will be live music.

Its the second annual Adorni Center Zumba Christmas Group Workout!

All your favorite Zumba instructors will be there: Greg, Michaele, Renee, Jessica, and Jordi. Of course, it won’t be the same without you and your friends.

Cost to get in is a can of food for our canned food drive for Food For People.

2017 Winter/Spring Basketball League Meeting

An organization meeting for the 2017 Men’s Winter/Spring Basketball League is scheduled for Wednesday, November 30, 2016. The meeting will be held at 6:00 PM at the Adorni Recreation Center, 1011 Waterfront Drive, Eureka. Teams represented at the November 30^th meeting will receive priority entry into the 2017 League.

A team roster and an information sheet for the upcoming League are enclosed for your convenience. As indicated on the information sheet, the team entry fee for this year’s league is $625.00. Registration begins on December 1^st, and will continue through Wednesday, December 21, 2016. Teams will play a 12 game season.

Winter/Spring 2017 Volleyball League Organization Meetings

A meeting will be held on Monday, November 21^st, in the Conference room at the Adorni Center, 1011 Waterfront Drive, for all teams interested in participating in 2017 Winter/Spring Volleyball Leagues. It will be for:

• Women’s League 6:00 p.m.

To RESERVE a spot in the league it is mandatory that the team manager or a person representing your team be present at the meeting. Please be prompt.

We will also be passing out the league registration materials and discussing any concerns or suggestions you may have.

REGISTRATION will begin Tuesday, November 22^nd, and continue through Wednesday, DECEMBER 21^st. ALL FEES AND COMPLETED TEAM ROSTERS MUST BE TURNED IN BY 5:00 P.M. ON THE 21^st. Any team that has not registetered by the deadline will forfeit their reserved status. All open spots will be filled with other interested teams via the volleyball waiting list. To register a team you must have at least 6 players and their signatures on the team roster form. All league fees and non-resident fees must be brought in at the time of registration.

Cancelled: CPR/First-Aid Training for December

The Adorni Center offers monthly CPR/First-Aid Training Certification Courses the third Saturday of each month – except this December. There will NOT be a class in December 2016. The class is still taking place in November and will return in January.
