The ABC (Accessible Books from CAPE) Traveling Library is a new program that
brings books directly to adults, children and families in need who experience
barriers to be able to visit a traditional library.
A book drive was started in April and already over 2,000 have been generously donated by the community.

Ink People & City of Eureka Awarded California Arts Council “Creative California Communities” Grant
State funds will leverage local arts project to address community needs
Eureka, CA – The California Arts Council announced its plans to award $90,000 to the Ink People & City of Eureka as part of its Creative California Communities program. The program supports collaborative projects that harness arts and culture as a creative placemaking strategy. Projects will benefit residents and visitors by utilizing area artists, cultural organizations and arts-related businesses to address community needs or priorities. Eureka Parks & Recreation is collecting books for youth and adults of ALL ages for the launch of the ABC Traveling Library.
The ABC (Accessible Books From CAPE) Traveling Library is a new program through the Community Access Project for Eureka that brings books DIRECTLY to adults, children and families in need who experience barriers to be able to visit a traditional library.
To get this program launched, Parks & Recreation is looking for new or gently used books of any genre for all ages.
