Every year, the USDA Forest Service selects one of its 154 national forests to provide a tree to appear on the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol building for the holiday season.
The Six Rivers National Forest in partnership with nonprofit partner Choose Outdoors will bring this special gift from California to Washington, D.C. for the 2021 holiday season. The Tree will make a special appearance in Eureka on Friday, October 29th from 4:30 pm-6:00 pm in the gravel parking lot adjacent to Madaket Plaza.
Hot cocoa and cider will be served. Homemade ornament kits will be given to take home.

Did you know that you can recycle your Christmas tree?
There are free drop-off locations from McKinleyville to Rio Dell. Find the location closest to you for dates when trees are accepted.
Interested in curbside pick-up? Availability is limited so contact your curbside provider to see if this is an option and if there are any fees for this service. Make sure to remove all decorations (ornaments, lights, hooks, garland, tinsel). Sorry, flocked trees may not be recycled.ive Your Tree a New Life
