Summer Camps Returning

Summer Day Camps return June 14 through August 6!

They will include Camp Cooper (application & referral base only) and Camp Muni. 

All Covid protocols are in place; temperature checks, masks, distancing. Free lunch will be provided for both camps by Eureka City Schools.

Both camps will operate Monday-Friday 8:00am-5pm and are for youth ages 5-12 years. Camp Muni will be $120/week for Eureka residents and $130/week for non-residents.

Community Services Offices Re-Opening

Community Services offices at the Adorni Center will be open beginning Wednesday, July 1^st, 9am-5pm Monday-Friday for business transactions, paying camp & preschool fees, etc.

The fitness facility is NOT open at this time.

Additionally, Little Saplings & Community Services offices will be closed Friday, July 3^rd in observance of the 4^th of July holiday.

UPDATE: Camp Cooper Registration Extended

This update reflects the fact that Camp Cooper registration is now open through Friday, May 26.

Applications for this free day camp are being accepted now through May 26.

For over 25 years, the City of Eureka has been proud to provide a free summer day camp for the community members in need. Now, thanks to a grant from California State Parks, Eureka Parks & Recreation has been able to expand its Camp Cooper program into an 8-hour environmental education day camp.

This camp is designed to be a resource for low-income and disadvantaged youth and their families.

Due to limited spaces in this program,  Eureka Parks & Recreation has created a competitive application process for families based on level of need that will secure them a spot for the entire summer.

Details:

• Camp runs June 19 through August 11
• Monday through Friday 8AM to 5PM
• Ages 5-12
• Deadline to pick up application is May 26

Details for qualifications and criteria each can be found in the application which can be picked up at the Adorni Center (1011 Waterfront Drive in Eureka) and will be accepted through April 30th, 2017. Families will be made aware if they have been chosen to have a secured spot in Camp Cooper by Friday, May 12th
