Music and Movement For Very Young Children Starts Sept 9

Come swirl and twirl in this class, where fun and movement abound for the tiniest of dancers, boys and girls from two to four years of age.

Watch your child use his or her imagination as he or she develops:

  • Motor Skills
  • Body Awareness
  • Concentration
  • Creativity

Beginning dance techniques and natural movement will add to the fun of this class, where self expression is encouraged. (Parents, make sure to stay and watch your little ones bloom.)

Parks and Rec Gets Art Grant!

Ink People & City of Eureka Awarded California Arts Council  “Creative California Communities” Grant

State funds will leverage local arts project to address community needs

Eureka, CA – The California Arts Council announced its plans to award $90,000 to the Ink People & City of Eureka as part of its Creative California Communities program.  The program supports collaborative projects that harness arts and culture as a creative placemaking strategy. Projects will benefit residents and visitors by utilizing area artists, cultural organizations and arts-related businesses to address community needs or priorities. Call to Artists for Humboldt BeeFest

Humboldt BeeFest 2017 Art Contest

The City of Eureka and the Humboldt Beekeepers Association are partnering to bring the fourth annual Humboldt BeeFest to Eureka. This includes the fourth annual Juried Art Competition.

Artists are being asked to submit their bee themed artwork by April 10th in order to be displayed leading up the event. Though late entries will be accepted until May 10th.

The theme for the competition is “Long Live the Queen!”. Artists are being asked to use their interpretation of this theme to create an art piece on paper or canvas, up to 40”x40”, and ready to hang.
