This is a Wee Readers special event featuring: Paul Woodland—known as the “Mad River Raconteur.”

Paul honed is storytelling skills while working as a Park Ranger telling tales on the radio (KHSU) and through hundreds of public performances in the classrooms, parks and festivals.  Paul is well known for his weekly radio storytelling program, “The Whippy Dip Radio Show” on KHSU.

Puppy Manners Class

Here’s your opportunity to socialize your new puppy and introduce your pet to other puppies!

This fun class will provide information of socialization and basic training skills. Proof of a minimum of one of the following vaccinations is required DHLPP (distemper, hepatitis, leptospirosis, patrainfluenza and parvovirus). Please bring copies of vaccination records when registering.

Pre-registration is required.


  • Dates: April 5 through May 10
  • Tuesdays from 6PM to 7PM
  • Cost is $65 for Eureka residents, $66 for non residents
  • For puppies two to five months and their pet guardians (15 or older)

Organizational Meeting for 2016 Men’s Softball League

The 2016 Men’s softball league is starting June 6.

There will be an organizational meeting at the Adorni for anyone who is interested on April 5, 2016 at 6:00 PM. Teams not attending this organization meeting will be admitted to the league on a FIRST-COME, FIRST SERVED BASIS! (Attendance guarantees placement in the league.)

League dates and details:

  • League Begins Monday June 6, 2016
  • It is a 15-game season
  • Games are played Monday through Friday At 6:30 P.M., 7:45 P.M., and 9:00 P.M. at Hartman, Kennedy, and Cooper Gulch North and South Fields
  • League Fees are $625/Team plus $10.00 mon-resident fee for each player that lives outside Eureka City Limits
  • Division A plays Mondays and Wednesdays/ Division B plays Tuesdays and Thursdays
  • Pick Up schedules start Friday, May 27, 2016 at Adorni Recreation Center

We have had many requests from folks that they’d like to pay for a series of sessions at once so we’ve introduced the Discount Multi Pass.  So, now, instead of paying the $7 drop in for non-members, the Discount Multi Pass allows you to pick up 10 sessions for $50, a savings of almost 30%. (It also makes a great gift certificate.) We’re really excited to announce the New “Buddy Pass” for Adorni Members

This pass – which is FREE for anyone who is a member of the Adorni (or becomes one) – gives you five free invites per 12 months for friends to attend anything at The Adorni that you attend. So, for example, if you go to Zumba or Fight to Fitness, you can have five others come along. It can be one person five times, five people once each or all five at once. It doesn’t matter.

It’s a way to not only to help you stay committed and on track, but also to have more fun getting fit by doing it with friends.
