2016 Women’s Winter/Spring Volleyball Season Gets Under Way!

Here are the details:

Registration Information:

  • Registration is open November 25th – December 21st at the city of Eureka recreation office (Adorni Center), 1011 waterfront drive, Monday – Friday from 8:00 am – 5:00 pm
  • Six (6) signatures are necessary in order to submit a roster.
  • Roster, league fees and non-resident fees must be submitted at the same time.

League Organizational Meeting: November 24th at 6:00pm

League Dates:

  • January 19th – mid April
  • Teams will play a 12 game season
  • Games are Tuesday and Wednesday evenings
  • Schedules will be available the first night of play

UPDATE: Lower Fee for Basketball Fundamentals Camp Thanksgiving Week

Just announced: The fee to have your child attend Basketball Camp has been reduced!

Give your child a jump start on the basketball season – and  save money – by enrolling them in Eureka Parks & Recreation’s Basketball Fundamentals holiday break camp, during the first part of Thanksgiving vacation week.

The Camp runs from 9am-1pm Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday November 23rd through November 25th at the Eureka Municipal Auditorium.

Your children will gain valuable skills including:

  • Dribbling
  • Passing
  • Shooting
  • Teamwork
  • Sportsmanship

It’s open to 7-12 year olds, costs $50 $40 a participant ($40 $30 each child for multiple siblings). By the way, if you have already registered, don’t worry, we’re going to give you a credit so you won’t be paying more than folks who registered later. After all, we so appreciate your early support.

UPDATE: Fresh Voices Singing Competition

The 3rd Annual Fresh Voices Singing Competition is this Saturday, November 14.

Join us on Saturday November 14th at 6:30 to witness our communities rising stars at the Fresh Voices Competition. Watch as teens grades 6th-12th grade compete for prizes & bragging rights as they perform your favorite classic & modern songs on stage at the Eureka Municipal Auditorium (1120 F St).

These teens have been working with vocal coaches for a month preparing for this event. Come out to support their big debut! Doors open at 6pm with a suggested donation of $3.00

It will be even better if YOU are there (and bring friends and family).

Men’s Winter-Spring Basketball League Getting Started

Here are the details.

  • 12 game season begins week of January 18, 2016
  • League Fees: $625.00/Team plus $10.00 Non-Resident fee for each player that lives outside of the Eureka City Limits

League Organization Meeting:

  • Monday, November 16, 2015, 6:00 PM
  • Adorni Recreation Center—1011 Waterfront Drive

Registration:

  • Tuesday, November 17, 2015 through Monday, December 14, 2015.
  • Register Monday through Friday, 8-5, at the Adorni Center Recreation Office
  • A minimum of five (5) signatures are necessary to submit a roster
  • Roster, league fees and non-resident fees must be submitted together

Come out and hear a great singing competition next weekend

The 3rd Annual Fresh Voices Singing Competition is November 14, 2015!

It will be at the Eureka Municipal Auditorium at 1120 F Street

Community Event: Hammond Park Clean Up

Let’s spruce up Hammond Park!

Come join your neighbors and friends. Help us make a difference by improving our local park. We’ll plant some flowers and trees, do some general clean-up and of course, share a great barbecue.

Westside neighbors and volunteers will join the City of Eureka Parks and Recreation for a Hammond Park (14th & E Street) beautification Party and Free BBQ on Saturday, November 14th, from 10 am to 2 pm.

This beautification project is coordinated by neighbors through Nextdoor-Westiside with support from: The City of Eureka, California Center for Rural Policy, Westside Community Improvement Association and St. Joseph’s Community Partnership.
