Organizational Meeting for 2016 Men’s Softball League

The 2016 Men’s softball league is starting June 6.

There will be an organizational meeting at the Adorni for anyone who is interested on April 5, 2016 at 6:00 PM. Teams not attending this organization meeting will be admitted to the league on a FIRST-COME, FIRST SERVED BASIS! (Attendance guarantees placement in the league.)

League dates and details:

  • League Begins Monday June 6, 2016
  • It is a 15-game season
  • Games are played Monday through Friday At 6:30 P.M., 7:45 P.M., and 9:00 P.M. at Hartman, Kennedy, and Cooper Gulch North and South Fields
  • League Fees are $625/Team plus $10.00 mon-resident fee for each player that lives outside Eureka City Limits
  • Division A plays Mondays and Wednesdays/ Division B plays Tuesdays and Thursdays
  • Pick Up schedules start Friday, May 27, 2016 at Adorni Recreation Center

We have had many requests from folks that they’d like to pay for a series of sessions at once so we’ve introduced the Discount Multi Pass.  So, now, instead of paying the $7 drop in for non-members, the Discount Multi Pass allows you to pick up 10 sessions for $50, a savings of almost 30%. (It also makes a great gift certificate.) We’re really excited to announce the New “Buddy Pass” for Adorni Members

This pass – which is FREE for anyone who is a member of the Adorni (or becomes one) – gives you five free invites per 12 months for friends to attend anything at The Adorni that you attend. So, for example, if you go to Zumba or Fight to Fitness, you can have five others come along. It can be one person five times, five people once each or all five at once. It doesn’t matter.

It’s a way to not only to help you stay committed and on track, but also to have more fun getting fit by doing it with friends.

Conservation Lecture at the Sequoia Park Zoo

On Wednesday, March 9, the Sequoia Part Zoo free and ongoing Conservation Lecture Series will feature a presentation about the Equatorial Guinea Bird Initiative by Jared Wolfe, PhD.

FREE!During his presentation, Jared will introduce the birds, forest and people of Equatorial Guinea and talk about the programs developed to identify the birds. “This was our third year teaching a popular seminar on wildlife conservation and management to students at the National University,” said Wolfe. ”Our objective is to build capacity within the government and university to foster effective wildlife conservation and management.”

Wolfe has operated bird banding stations throughout the Western Hemisphere and Africa for academic, non-profit, governmental, and private organizations. He holds many ornithology credentials and is involved with a number of conservation projects.


  • The lecture is FREE and open to the public

  • Sequoia Park Zoo’s Flamingo Room, 7 pm to 8 pm
  • Reception will be held from 6:30 pm prior to the lecture.
