If you’d like to know more about UPLIFT Eureka , read on:

UPLIFT Eureka is designed to support our houseless community members in accessing vital resources to obtain housing, employment, and to reclaim independence. To that end, we are planning a very special event; “A Benefit Concert for Humboldt’s Homeless” to fundraise for UPLIFT EUREKA while increasing its reach and capacity to help even more people. The efforts of this fundraiser will directly fund the following programs:

  • Housing Assistance: UPLIFT Eureka assists participants with securing housing by providing funds to cover application fees, deposits and rent, while also providing supportive services to support self-sufficiency and stabilization once housed. In one year’s time, 34 UPLIFT participants obtained permanent housing through their participation in UPLIFT Eureka.
  • Pathway to Payday: In partnership with the Betty Kwan Chinn Day Center, this workshop series is a free four-day workshop focusing on the enhancement of application, resume and interview skills. To date, Pathway to Payday has helped over 100 community members find employment and garners a 90+ percent success rate with participants who complete all four days receiving a second interview or a job offer.
  • Job Skills Training Program: UPLIFT participants have the opportunity to attend trainings on topics such as general workplace safety and proper use of personal protective equipment. Through city beautification projects, participants gain experience performing a variety of duties including trail maintenance, landscaping, trash pickups, graffiti removal and building maintenance. In addition to experiencing the reward of contributing positively to the community, this program gives participants valuable experience that can help boost their resume and help enable them to obtain future employment.
  • Future Programming: Funds raised through this benefit will enable UPLIFT Eureka to implement new programs that will address homelessness prevention as well as programs specifically designed to support homeless youth, homeless veterans and the chronically homeless populations.

Without the help of community members like yourself, putting on an event such as this benefit concert to support families in need, could not be as spectacular as we envision. We are bringing in the well-known Jerry Garcia Band, who now includes a Humboldt fan favorite, Melvin Seals, on Saturday, February 29th, 2020.

How does this benefit you and your company? Each level of sponsorship comes with its own unique perks. You and your business will benefit from an awesome award package for being a contributor to a great cause! Your donation to a nonprofit also brings forth an opportunity for a subsidiary, while being a part of creating positive change in the lives of our most vulnerable community members.
