This class is intended as a general introduction to the work, skills and effort required to put on a play.
Students will work together for five weeks to put on a small, one-act play for their parents and friends. The sixth week of class is reserved for the performance. Youth will audition for a role, with all participants being cast fairly. Students will then work to memorize lines and blocking, while focusing on the basics of theater skills (projection, blocking, stage direction, etc.)
Plays may include: The Princess and the Pea, Stone Soup, etc. A small snack will be provided.
